Subject: RCP Clinical Excellence Awards Process 2011 Applications Additional
Information
Dear colleagues,
Please excuse another email but we know that many people are already working
on their RCP CVQ forms and some new information has just come to light. I
thought it best to send this to you direct rather than just add it to the
guidance on our website.
First, if you are applying for a new award, please note that all
achievements need to be dated. Information received from the central ACCEA
committee suggests that many applicants still do not make clear when things
were done, and skeptical committee members will not give them the benefit of
the doubt - “if it is not dated, do not mention it”. Focus only on
achievements since your last award, or in the last 5 years if you don’t have
one, and date them all.
Second, if you already have a national award and are seeking renewal through
a 5 yearly review, then complete the documentation with similar effort as
you would put into a new application. The committee is now being asked
whether these reviews show the level of activity that would have won a new
award at this level this year. You are also strongly advised to fill in the
ACCEA supplementary forms when relevant.
Best wishes,
Clive
